Samsung Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G launched with AI features, 50MP cameras, IP68 rating and six years updates

Samsung Electronics has introduced the new Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G, expanding its popular Galaxy A lineup with a stronger focus on artificial intelligence, camera performance, long term software support and premium everyday usability. The latest launch reflects Samsung’s wider strategy of bringing advanced mobile features beyond flagship devices and into more affordable segments.

With the new Galaxy A series, Samsung is pushing what it calls Awesome Intelligence, a suite of AI powered tools designed to help users complete everyday tasks faster, improve productivity and simplify photo editing. Both smartphones also arrive with 50MP main cameras, large batteries, water and dust resistance, bright AMOLED displays and up to six generations of Android OS upgrades.

The Galaxy A57 5G leads the lineup as the more premium option, while the Galaxy A37 5G targets users seeking strong value with modern features at a lower price point.

Samsung says the new devices are built to make artificial intelligence more accessible to mainstream smartphone buyers. Running on Android 16 with One UI 8.5, both phones include a range of software tools designed for practical daily use.

One of the major additions is Voice Transcription inside the Voice Recorder app. This feature can convert recorded speech into text, helping users review lectures, meetings or calls more easily. Translation support is also included for selected content.

Another highlight is AI Select, which can be activated through the Edge Panel. The Galaxy A57 5G also gains Best Face, a feature designed for group photos. It can analyse motion photo frames and suggest better facial expressions so everyone looks their best in a single image.

Filters and Edit Suggestions remain available for fast enhancements, while Auto Trim on the A57 5G helps users cut videos more efficiently.

The phone measures 161.5 x 76.8 x 6.9mm and weighs 179g, making it notably slim for a device with a large battery.

The Galaxy A37 5G also uses a 6.7 inch Full HD Plus display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and Vision Booster support, though it uses Super AMOLED rather than AMOLED Plus. It measures 162.9 x 78.2 x 7.4mm and weighs 196g.

Both models are designed for users who want large screens for streaming, gaming, browsing and social media use.

Samsung says the Galaxy A57 5G includes upgraded CPU, GPU and NPU hardware for faster overall performance. While the company has not publicly named the chipset in this announcement, it positions the phone as suitable for multitasking, content creation, gaming and media consumption.

A 5,000mAh battery powers the device, with Samsung claiming up to two days of usage under typical conditions. The Galaxy A57 5G also supports Super Fast Charging 2.0, reaching up to 60 percent charge in around 30 minutes.

Samsung has also increased the vapor chamber size by 13 percent compared with the previous model, which should help maintain performance during longer gaming or recording sessions.

Battery capacity for the Galaxy A37 5G is also listed at 5,000mAh, giving both phones competitive endurance in their segment.

Both phones carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, an important feature still uncommon in many mid range smartphones. Samsung states the devices were tested for submersion in up to 1.5 metres of freshwater for up to 30 minutes under lab conditions.
