vivo X300 Ultra to launch on May 6 as brand highlights creator focused camera vision with ZEISS optics and 400 mm zoom reach

vivo X300 Ultra smartphone teaser showing ZEISS camera system, creator focused imaging features, 400 mm zoom kit and May 6 launch announcement

Vivo has officially started building momentum for the launch of its upcoming X300 Ultra smartphone, scheduled to be introduced on May 6. Ahead of the unveiling, the company shared fresh details around the device’s imaging philosophy, positioning the handset as a premium smartphone built for a new generation of creators who expect speed, precision and dependable results in every shot.

In a statement contributed by Paigham Danish, Head of Product and GTM, vivo India, the brand said smartphone photography is no longer about adding more features alone. Instead, users now expect cameras that can capture moments accurately in real world conditions, whether that means low light portraits, fast moving subjects, distant action or cinematic video.

vivo says users now want reliable imaging, not just more camera features

According to vivo, smartphone users have evolved from casual photographers into everyday creators who constantly document their lives. These users may not be professionals, but they expect professional grade consistency from their devices.

The company noted that modern users often shoot photos in motion, in difficult lighting, and without a second chance to retake the shot. That shift has changed expectations from asking what a camera can do to asking how accurately it can reproduce what the eye sees.

With the X300 Ultra, vivo says it aims to answer that demand through what it calls Precision led Imaging, focusing on dependable performance instead of marketing driven specifications.

ZEISS co engineered camera system expected to be key highlight

One of the major features confirmed by the company is a ZEISS Co engineered Optical System, continuing vivo’s long running camera partnership with ZEISS. The collaboration is expected to play a central role in colour science, lens tuning and image clarity.

vivo says accurate colours matter especially in dynamic environments such as stadium lighting or fading evening scenes, where many smartphone cameras struggle to balance tones naturally.

The company claims the X300 Ultra is designed to preserve colours as users actually saw them, without over warming images or making scenes appear dull.

14 mm to 400 mm focal range with Telephoto Extender Kit

In a notable move, vivo also highlighted an expanded imaging ecosystem around the device. The X300 Ultra will support a Telephoto Extender Kit, allowing focal lengths from 14 mm to 400 mm.

That means users may be able to move from ultra wide landscape shots to long distance zoom photography without switching devices. vivo says the feature is intended for users who want to capture moments where distance would normally be a limitation.

This could appeal strongly to sports fans, wildlife enthusiasts and travel creators who often need extra reach beyond standard smartphone telephoto cameras.

Cricket used as example of real world camera performance

vivo used cricket as the clearest example of why modern smartphone imaging now demands precision. In India, cricket remains one of the most popular settings where users instantly test their phone cameras.

The company pointed to moments such as a fast bowler’s release, a bat making contact with the ball, or a split second fielding dive. These events happen too quickly for weak autofocus systems or poor motion handling.

With the X300 Ultra, vivo says users should be able to capture such scenes smoothly and clearly, whether in a stadium or during a local gully cricket match.

The brand also shared promotional imagery featuring Shreyas Iyer using the upcoming handset.

4K 120 fps Dolby Vision video and 10 Bit Log support confirmed

For video creators, vivo has confirmed Multi focal 4K 120 fps Dolby Vision Video support on the X300 Ultra. This suggests the phone is being designed for high frame rate cinematic capture, especially useful for sports, action clips and smooth slow motion edits.

The company also confirmed 10 Bit Log recording with a new Pro Video Mode, which could give creators greater flexibility in post production. Log recording preserves more dynamic range and colour data, allowing editors to fine tune footage later without major quality loss.

These additions indicate vivo is targeting serious mobile videographers in addition to regular smartphone buyers.

Triple Prime lenses and display accuracy also in focus

Beyond capture quality, vivo says the X300 Ultra will feature ZEISS Triple Prime lenses and a display tuned for accuracy. The company argued that even a great photo loses value if the screen does not show colours and contrast correctly.

That suggests vivo is focusing not only on camera hardware but also on how users preview and edit their images directly on the device.

For content creators who upload instantly to social platforms, accurate on screen results can be just as important as the camera sensor itself.

Premium smartphone battle set to intensify

The launch of the X300 Ultra comes at a time when flagship smartphone brands are increasingly competing on imaging performance. Devices from Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi have all pushed advanced camera hardware in the premium segment.

vivo appears ready to challenge that space by focusing on reliability, cinematic tools and creator first features rather than headline megapixel numbers alone.

If the company delivers on its claims, the X300 Ultra could emerge as one of the most talked about camera centric smartphones of 2026.

vivo X300 Ultra launch date

vivo has confirmed that the next chapter for its X Series begins on May 6, when the vivo X300 Ultra will be officially introduced.

Until then, the teaser campaign makes one message clear: vivo wants the X300 Ultra to be seen as the smartphone that performs when the moment matters most.
