Ranveer Singh Starrer Marches Past Rs 925 Crore Globally, Eyes Rs 1000 Crore Milestone

Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar continues its extraordinary box office journey, firmly establishing itself as one of the most successful Indian films of all time. On its nineteenth day in cinemas, the Ranveer Singh led spy thriller crossed the remarkable Rs 925 crore mark worldwide, placing it among the elite top ten highest grossing Indian films ever. As the film entered Day 20 on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, trade trends indicated that its momentum remains largely intact despite entering its third week.

Dhurandhar has shown rare consistency at the domestic box office, a feat increasingly uncommon in the current theatrical landscape. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 17.25 crore net in India on Day 19, registering a 4.55 percent growth over its Day 18 collections. This took the film’s total India net collection to Rs 589.5 crore by the end of Tuesday.

With this figure, Dhurandhar dethroned Kantara A Legend Chapter 1, which had grossed Rs 852.31 crore worldwide, to become the highest grossing Indian film of 2025 so far. It is also poised to comfortably cross the Rs 600 crore India net milestone during the Christmas holiday period, further strengthening its status as an all time mega blockbuster.

Trade analysts have highlighted the film’s strong hold on weekdays as a key factor behind its sustained success. On the corresponding day of its run, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal had earned Rs 12.72 crore, whereas Dhurandhar outperformed it significantly, underlining its superior box office legs.

On Day 20, which marked the film’s third Wednesday in theatres, Dhurandhar earned approximately Rs 8.04 crore India net across all languages by late evening estimates. These figures were based on live data and were expected to be updated with final numbers later in the night.

The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 24.48 percent on Wednesday. Morning shows opened at 17.35 percent occupancy, while afternoon shows saw a noticeable rise to 31.60 percent. Evening and night show data were still being updated at the time of reporting.

Among major regions, Bengaluru led with an impressive overall occupancy of 40.50 percent, followed by Chennai at 37 percent and the National Capital Region at 29 percent. Mumbai registered 22.50 percent occupancy across more than 950 shows, reflecting steady urban footfalls even in the third week.

Globally, Dhurandhar has delivered numbers that place it in rare company. According to reports shared by Bollywood Hungama and NDTV, the film’s latest worldwide gross stands at approximately Rs 925.28 crore.

The breakup of the worldwide figures is equally impressive. India net collections are reported at Rs 619.30 crore, while India gross collections stand at around Rs 737.26 crore. Overseas markets have contributed approximately Rs 188 crore gross, despite the film releasing without a Middle East rollout and with relatively fewer screens in select territories.

With these numbers, Dhurandhar has officially surpassed Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, which had closed its worldwide run at around Rs 915 crore. It has also overtaken Baahubali 2 Hindi and Stree 2 in global lifetime collections, cementing its position at the ninth spot among the highest grossing Indian films ever.

Industry experts believe that once Dhurandhar comfortably crosses the Rs 930 crore mark, it may soon overtake Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which stands at Rs 922.17 crore worldwide, before setting its sights on the coveted Rs 1000 crore milestone.

One of the standout aspects of Dhurandhar’s run has been its overseas performance. Trade analysts estimate that the film has already crossed 22 million dollars internationally and is now targeting a 30 million dollar closing overseas total.

The film has performed particularly well in North America and the United Kingdom, driven by strong word of mouth and repeat viewership. Analysts have noted that this performance is especially notable given the limited number of screens and shows in certain regions.

In contrast, the makers of Animal are preparing for a Japan release in February 2026, hoping to push that film closer to the Rs 1000 crore mark. However, industry observers believe overtaking Dhurandhar again could prove difficult unless Animal delivers an exceptional run similar to RRR’s performance in Japan.

Despite the arrival of new releases and the festive Christmas window, Dhurandhar’s dominance appears largely unchallenged. Exhibitors have reportedly adjusted show timings for other films, including Hollywood releases, but Dhurandhar’s screenings remain unaffected due to sustained audience demand.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh stated that the film is expected to maintain its box office supremacy in the coming days, driven by extraordinary audience support and the holiday season. Joginder Tuteja echoed similar sentiments, noting that the film has re entered the Rs 20 crore plus daily collection range and is likely to see further growth through the weekend.

Jio Studios also shared a celebratory update on social media, highlighting that Dhurandhar has crossed Rs 619.30 crore in India net box office collections and continues to rule cinemas worldwide.

Directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar features an ensemble cast led by Ranveer Singh, with key performances from Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun.

The film’s technical strengths have also drawn praise, with Vikash Nowlakha’s cinematography, Shivkumar V Panicker’s editing, and Shashwat Sachdev’s music contributing to its immersive storytelling.

Unlike the first film, which was primarily a Hindi release, Dhurandhar 2 will release simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, making it a full scale pan India and global release. The announcement has already generated significant buzz within the trade, with expectations of another record breaking run.
