OnePlus Nord CE 6 India launch on May 7 with 144Hz AMOLED display, 8,000mAh battery and Snapdragon 7s Gen 4

OnePlus is preparing to strengthen its mid range smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Nord CE 6 series on May 7. The company has confirmed that the OnePlus Nord CE 6 will debut alongside the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite, bringing upgraded displays, larger batteries, faster charging and new AI powered features to the Nord portfolio.

Ahead of the official announcement, several core specifications and design details have already been revealed, giving buyers a clear look at what to expect. The upcoming devices are aimed at users seeking premium features without stepping into flagship pricing.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 is scheduled to launch in India on May 7 at 12 PM IST. After launch, the smartphone is expected to be available through Amazon and other official retail channels.

While OnePlus has not yet announced the final price, market expectations suggest the Nord CE 6 could arrive under the ₹30,000 segment. This would position it slightly above the starting price of the previous generation Nord CE 5, which launched at ₹24,999.

The Nord CE 6 Lite is also expected to target value focused buyers looking for strong battery life and smooth display performance at a lower price point.

One of the biggest highlights of the Nord CE 6 is its display. The phone is confirmed to feature a 6.78 inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.

Powering the Nord CE 6 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. The processor is expected to deliver balanced performance for multitasking, gaming and daily use.

OnePlus says the handset supports up to 144 FPS gameplay in supported titles, showing clear focus on mobile gaming users. The device also includes Touch Reflex technology with a 3200Hz touch sampling rate, designed to improve responsiveness during fast paced gaming sessions.

OnePlus is also adding several AI powered tools inside the gallery app, including AI Eraser, AI Unblur, AI Reflection Eraser and AI Portrait Glow. These features are designed to help users improve images without needing third party editing apps.

The growing focus on AI tools shows how smartphone brands are bringing software based upgrades into mid range devices, not just premium flagships.

OnePlus says the Nord CE 6 carries multiple protection ratings including IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K. It is also listed with MIL STD 810H certification.

While real world durability always depends on usage conditions, these ratings suggest stronger resistance to dust, water and rough handling than many rivals in the same segment.

For audio, the smartphone features dual speakers with support for up to 300 percent Ultra Volume, which could improve speaker output for calls, videos and gaming.

Alongside the main model, the Nord CE 6 Lite has also been confirmed. It will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, a 7,000mAh battery and a 144Hz display.

The Lite model is expected to offer up to two days of battery life and will be available in black and light green colour options.

India remains one of the most competitive smartphone markets in the world, especially in the ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 price segment. Buyers in this category now expect premium displays, reliable cameras, long battery life and clean software support.
