HyperOS 3 Expands to More Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco Devices With Android 16

Xiaomi has begun expanding the rollout of its latest HyperOS 3 software to a wider range of smartphones and tablets in India. The update is based on Android 16 and brings a mix of visual refinements, productivity focused AI tools and system level enhancements aimed at improving everyday usage across Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices.

The HyperOS 3 platform was officially unveiled at Xiaomi’s September 2025 launch event. While the Xiaomi 17 series was the first to ship with the new operating system out of the box, the company has now confirmed that several existing devices are receiving the update through an over the air rollout.

According to Xiaomi India, the HyperOS 3 update is being rolled out to multiple products across different price segments. The confirmed list includes the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi Pad 7, Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi 13, Poco F7 and Poco M7 Pro 5G. These devices will be upgraded to Android 16 along with Xiaomi’s latest system level features.

The update is being released in phases, so availability may vary by region and model. Users can manually check for the update by opening Settings, navigating to the My Device section and tapping on the HyperOS banner at the top of the screen. If the update is available, a download and install option will appear.

One of the most visible changes in HyperOS 3 is the introduction of HyperIsland. This feature appears as a pill shaped interface at the top of the display and provides quick access to important system alerts and live activities. It shows information such as charging speed, ongoing tasks and app updates without interrupting the current screen.

Xiaomi has also added a dual island design concept. This allows users to expand and manage multiple tasks or apps from the same screen, reducing the need to switch back and forth between applications. The interface is designed to make multitasking faster and more intuitive.

Visual customisation has also received attention. HyperOS 3 enables users to generate dynamic wallpapers and cinematic lock screens from still images, giving devices a more personalised and modern look.

A major highlight of HyperOS 3 is the integration of Xiaomi HyperAI tools. These features are designed to assist users with writing, editing and content understanding directly on their devices. AI writing tools can adjust the tone and style of text in messages and emails, making communication more flexible and polished.

The update also introduces smart screen recognition and a DeepThink mode, allowing users to interact more naturally with on screen content. Another addition is AI Speed Recognition, which enhances audio recordings by improving clarity, generating real time transcripts and summarising audio files for quick review.

With HyperOS 3, Xiaomi continues its move toward deeper control over software experience while aligning closely with the latest Android platform. By bringing Android 16 and advanced AI features to existing devices, the company is extending flagship level capabilities to a broader user base.

As the rollout continues, more eligible Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices are expected to receive HyperOS 3 in the coming weeks. For users, the update represents a meaningful step forward in performance, usability and intelligent system features without the need to upgrade hardware immediately.
